 Windows Official Blog

Microsoft is working round the clock to make Windows 10 Mobile available to smartphones but its focus at the moment is polishing it for public consumption. Just recently, build 10586.63 was made available to users in the Fast Ring for the Insiders Program.

According to Beta News, Microsoft had a bit of a problem with the distribution because some users managed to acquire the software prior to its official launch to the Insiders Program. Microsoft's Gabriel Aul apologized for the confusion and explained the mishap on Twitter.

"During publishing of the .63 update we detected a potential issue with staging on deployment servers," Aul explained. "Since we were partially staged, some people were able to detect the update," he added.

Aul promised to fix the problem and sure enough, Microsoft came through, overcame the clanger and made the latest build of the Windows 10 Mobile available in the Fast Ring.

The newer build does not contain massive changes or new features although it has several tweaks and fixes thrown in there. There is the usual stability and performance improvement as well as enhancements on battery life.

While the changes that come with the new Windows 10 Mobile build are only small, a Microsoft employee who goes by the name jenmsft took time to lay out these details for users looking for specifics. The changelog is as follows.

  • Typing on Polish keyboard in Outlook Mail
  • Turn by turn directions over Bluetooth in car
  • Battery usage with Iris Recognition
  • Reliability of quick actions settings page
  • MS Band use with Cortana

According to WM Power User, the build indeed makes the Windows Hello quicker. Users also report an improvement on the Band and Band 1.

Softpedia has word that build 10586.63 will be the build Microsoft will release to its Windows devices. If everything works out fine in the testing phase, this Windows 10 Mobile build should see the light of day in the coming weeks.

At the moment, the abovementioned website says there are 1 million smartphones that has Windows 10 Mobile on board.
