'Wayward Pines' season 2 episode 7 spoilers: CJ's past to be explored; Another original character to die?

More secrets unfold in the next episode of "Wayward Pines" season 2 and this time, they will be all about Wayward Pines resident historian CJ Mitchum (Djimon Hounsou).

CJ has been in Wayward Pines during its inception. He knows a great deal about the town and possibly the aberrations, or abbies, that lurk beyond the fence.

In "Wayward Pines" season 2, episode 7 titled "Time Will Tell," CJ "reflects on his life and the great responsibilities he's had over the centuries."

Not much is known about CJ, although he was with the Pilcher siblings – David (Toby Jones) and Nurse Pam (Melissa Leo) – and was around as they took care of Jason (Tom Stevens).

It was hinted in the "Wayward Pines" season 2, episode 7 trailer that he spent a lot of his time outside the wall and at the territory of the abbies.

Apart from that, there's not really much revealed about CJ. This will change in the next episode of "Wayward Pines" season 2, of course, when the installment fleshes out his story.

Meanwhile, episode 7 of "Wayward Pines" season 2 will also see the small little town make progress in their research on the female abbie they caught that happens to be their leader.

Theo (Jason Patric) and Adam (Tim Griffin) believe that they can communicate with her and that she understands. The two think she harbors useful information.

Megan (Hope Davis), however, isn't on board with the idea. However, it appears that the abbie will be released anyway, which results to danger.

In the "Wayward Pines" season 2, episode 7 trailer, Jason appears to have opened fire on someone. It is unclear who was at the receiving end.

Someone will be in danger after that encounter, but it is unclear who it is. But since "Wayward Pines" season 2 has been killing off original characters, it is likely Adam might have been shot.

It is also possible that it is actually the female abbie that gets shot. In that case, the information she has will be taken to her grave and will no longer be used by Wayward Pines.

"Wayward Pines" season 2, episode 7 "Time Will Tell" airs July 6 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
