'Wayward Pines' episode 5 spoilers: Carla Gugino reveals vital information about town's secrets

Wayward Pines Fox

The highly anticipated midseason reveal of "Wayward Pines" will finally air this week, which means that the fans will finally find out why the Burkes are stuck in the strange and mysterious city in Idaho.

The official synopsis for the fifth episode of "Wayward Pines" titled "The Truth" reads:

Ethan (Matt Dillon) will venture outside of Wayward Pines and will be shocked by what he discovers. Meanwhile, Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon) is going to report to her new realty job and meet her first client who is as confused as Theresa about the eerie town. Ben (Charlie Tahan) will go through orientation and learn the truth about Wayward Pines from his teacher Megan Fisher (Hope Davis)."

Actress Carla Gugino talked about the upcoming episode with TV Line, and shared that this is the only episode out of 10 where her character Kate Hewson will not be featured. Still, the actress shared that "The Truth" is one of her favorites in the show.

"It's so well-structured, and I love the notion that they chose to make the biggest, most epic reveal in the middle of the season. It allows the audience to be in on the information with us and to figure out what we're going to do about it. To me, as an audience member, that's an incredibly engaging idea," the actress shared.

Gugino also said that she already had a clue about what is happening in the strange city, but the details were only revealed to them as they went on with the show. She also admitted that while the children of Wayward Pines were the only one who were allowed to be indoctrinated with the secret of the town, some of the adults know more about some stuff compared to the others.

Also, the actress said that the 10th and final season of "Wayward Pines" will provide a lot of resolution in the story, but it will also prepare the fans to look forward to another season if FOX will renew the show for season 2.

"Wayward Pines" episode 5 airs on June 11.
