Wanle releases Game Boy-like phone case complete with classic games, available for iPhone 6, 7, 8, X and the Plus versions

Electronics company Wanle has developed an iPhone case with an appearance like the Nintendo Game Boy. It has a working game console with its own power supply and attaches to the back of the iPhone like most phone cases. Models are available for the iPhone 6, 6S, 6 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X.

The games included are classic fare; with pixel block versions of Tetris, Tanks, Snake, and Formula One Racing preinstalled. There are 10 games included all in all, but it seems like there is no option to install additional games in the future. It is not a handheld console as sophisticated as the Nintendo Switch, or even a real Game Boy. However, it is expected that the 10 games would be enough to pass some time.

Using the case is simple enough. The user could slip the case on the back of their iPhone and its plastic material would protect the phone from accidental falls and scratches. The user could then put the required battery in the case and use the Game Boy-like buttons to play the included games.

What's most interesting about the case's design is that it is not obtrusive. It is specifically designed so that it does not obstruct any of the iPhone's buttons, speaker, microphone, headphone jack, camera flash and dock.

Still, there are some comments on the Wanle website regarding minor complaints about the product. Some who bought it say that the materials used are of inferior quality. Some even say that the buttons do not work like they supposedly should. However, most of the reviews expressed that they continue to use the product despite these minor gripes.

The Wanle Gameboy case is available in black and white variants. It is available on the company's website. The original retail price is $79.95, but Wanle is selling it right now at the discounted price of $29.95.
