'Walking Dead' season 5 spoilers: Daryl to die next after Beth in new episodes?

Is Daryl Dixon of "The Walking Dead" finally facing his imminent doom? "TWD" creator Robert Kirkman threatened fans of the hit AMC post-apocalyptic series that actor Norman Reedus' fan-favorite character is not safe from the chopping block. 

Kirkman was interviewed by Gustavo Valdes of CNN over the weekend, where he was asked about the process of killing off characters in the horror drama adaptation of his similarly titled comic book series written with Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore. According to the executive producer, it is harder to kill off a character in the show compared to the comic book pages since they have to think about the actors who portray the roles. 

"You get to know the actor, and you see the house that they bought in Senoia, Georgia for filming. And it's like, 'Oh, they're not going to live in that house anymore.' That's awkward," Kirkman stated. 

When Emily Kinney's character Beth Greene died during the midseason finale of the show, fans were devastated. They want to bring Beth back, and even launched an online petition to ask the series creators for her return. But it seems like Beth's return will be an unlikely scenario in the series. Kirkman also confirmed what the fans are dreading in all the seasons of the show – that no one is actually safe from death, even Daryl Dixon. 

When asked if there is a particular character who is guaranteed survival in the series, Kirkman said, "No, no one is safe, definitely not. Looking at you Norman Reedus." 

The executive producer may just be messing around with avid "TWD" fans, but there might be some truth to his statement. After all, there were other fan-favorite characters who were also killed off in the series, including Beth's father Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson). 

Meanwhile, Reedus recently conducted an AMA segment in Reddit for his fans, where he answered a lot of questions about Daryl, Beth, Daryl's future in the show, as well as other random stuff. 

When a fan asked if Daryl and Beth could have had a romantic relationship if she did not pass away, Reedus said, "There was definitely a taste of it in the air." 

Reedus also confessed that he did not expect his character will last for five seasons and counting, saying, "It was such a well written script I just wanted to be involved in any way possible for however long they would have me around." 

"The Walking Dead" season 5 returns on air on Feb. 8.
