Video game developer DONTNOD Entertainment is at it again, with a new title, "Vampyr," set for release this 2018.

Immediately following the release and success of "Life is Strange" last year, DONTNOD announced the development of "Vampyr." DONTNOD has since released a series of teasers and information about the new game, and it is not the type of game fans had expected from the developers.

DONTNOD, famous for its work on "Life is Strange," saw huge success from the melodramatic, psychological graphic adventure. In "Life is Strange," players took control of a normal teenager with the power to rewind time and re-do previous choices with new knowledge from "the future." Each choice the player made drastically changed the world. It was a graphically inspired, story-rich, emotional roller-coaster ride reminiscent of the "Butterfly Effect" novel and movie.

"Vampyr" keeps the elements of unique interactions with its characters, with each choice made affecting the lives of the many characters, which changes the overall environment and setting of the game. However, there is one glaring difference from its predecessor — "Vampyr" is dark, bloody, and action-packed.

The game is set in 19th century London, and players assume the role of an accomplished military surgeon coming home from the war. He is attacked by vampires on his way home and awakens with a penchant and thirst for human blood. The noble doctor, determined to save lives, sets out on a journey to cure his condition, while protecting citizens from other "vampyrs." There is only one problem — the doctor must feed.

This throws players into constant moral dilemmas of choosing which human citizens to feed upon. Each citizen has a role in the world, a job, a family, friends and relationships, which in turn affect the overall setting and environment. This also affects their opinion of the player and how the characters interact with him/her. Players must face-off against vampyrs and humans alike in this action-adventure with a twist.

"Vampyr" has not revealed the game's release date as of report writing, but is currently scheduled for spring 2018. DONTNOD has announced a four-part web series of videos as a promotional feature.
