The behind-the-scenes drama on the fictional reality show "Everlasting" intensifies when "UnREAL" returns for its second season.

According to lead stars Constance Zimmer and Shiri Appleby, their characters will continue to be at each other's throats as the events during the filming of the new season of "Everlasting take" place.

"They're definitely at odds," Appleby, the actress who portrays the role of producer Rachel Goldberg in the series, told Entertainment Weekly. "They're two incredibly strong women who have the similar goal of having a successful television show, but the stories they want to tell are different."

In season 2, Rachel and Zimmer's character, Quinn King, will have their hands full as they create a new season of "Everlasting" with football star Darius Hill (B.J. Britt), the very first black suitor in the history of reality dating shows. But after the fans' interest wanes as the season progress, Rachel and Quinn will have tons of disagreements regarding how they will make the show maintain its relevance to the audience.

"It's super, super challenging to play... It's the power struggle that women have, the fight to be equal in positions," Zimmer said regarding Rachel and Quinn's never-ending bickering in the upcoming episode.

Meanwhile, Britt revealed in a separate interview with EW that it was initially hard for him to distinguish which is "UnREAL" and which is "Everlasting."

"It's hard to wrap your brain around it," the new cast member said. "I've gone up to a bunch of people and asked, 'Where is so-and-so?' and they're like, 'Oh, I don't work here, I'm just an actor,' so I'm like, 'Ah! I'm so sorry!' You don't know which cameras are rolling, and it's confusing, but it keeps you on your A game."

Another new cast member, Michael Rady, was also amazed at how the series works behind-the-scenes since it requires to film a show within a show. The actor, who portrays the role of a respected filmmaker named Coleman, said that he was very interested to find out if they use the actual filming equipment as props for the fictional reality series.

"UnREAL" season 2 premieres on Monday, June 6, on Lifetime.
