'UnREAL' season 2 new cast members

 Lifetime

Lifetime has finally revealed the names of the new regulars who will debut in the upcoming second season of "UnREAL."

According to a report from Deadline, "Hawaii Five-O" star Monica Barbaro, "Jane the Virgin" alum Michael Rady, "Turn: Washington's Spies" star Gentry White, and Denée Benton will join the cast of Lifetime's dark comedy drama.

Barbaro will portray the role of "Everlasting" contestant Yael, who will drive Rachel (Shiri Appleby) crazy because she is dubbed the hotter, less insane version of her. Benton, meanwhile, will portray the role of Ruby, the other "Everlasting" contest who is known to be very smart and uninterested in everything that the producers will require them to do.

Rady will portray the role of NYU film school graduate-turned-documentary filmmaker named Coleman. Finally, White will play the role of Romeo, the cousin of Darius Hill (B.J. Britt).

"Everlasting," described as a parody of reality dating shows like "The Bachelor," will introduce the first African-American suitor, something no other reality dating series has ever featured.

Darius Hill is a former professional football star who agreed to participate on the reality show so he can recover his tainted image after a scandal. But according to International Business Times, Darius has no idea that the behind-the-scenes scenario of "Everlasting" is filled with drama, which could further hurt his chances to have a clean name.

During last month's Television Critics Association winter press tour, show creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro admitted that getting an African-American suitor for the dating reality show-within-the-show was not an easy feat.

"Breaking this story is so scary," Shapiro said to Entertainment Weekly before the panel. "I'm a Jewish white girl breaking a story about race, I mean we have people of color on our staff and they've definitely taken a very, very primary role in talking about a lot of these things, but it's terrifying."

"UnREAL" season 2 is expected to be released by Lifetime sometime this summer.
