'Uncharted 4' release news: Nathan Drake to welcome E3 2015 participants

The hype for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo is starting to build up.

Evan Wells, the co-president of game developer Naughty Dog, posted an image on Twitter showing the gigantic banner of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," currently posted on the façade of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Putting up a banner of that magnitude must have cost Sony a lot of money, which means that the game entertainment company gives a lot of importance to the franchise. It will be one of the first things that E3 2015 attendees will see when they reach the venue of this year's video game console trade show, and attract other non-gamers as well.

In his own Twitter account, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann re-tweeted Wells' post, adding, "Looking mighty good for his last E3."

This reiterates the studio's decision to end the franchise with the upcoming installment. It is "Uncharted" character Nathan Drake's final appearance in a video game as well.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is not due for release until spring 2016, but the game studio could be using the hype to showcase the game's latest gameplay trailer, or promote the soon-to-be released "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" that was announced last week. With the release of the three-game bundle of the remastered versions of the first three "Uncharted" games for the PlayStation 4, the studio announced that the games will come out without the multiplayer option that was offered in the original PlayStation 3 editions.

In the official PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog representative Eric Monacelli discussed the reason why they will not be releasing the game with multiplayer option.

"We don't want to split up our awesome U2 and U3 MP communities that we have right now either. Everyone who buys collection will get U4 MP Beta access and it'll be a fun way to get ready for U4!" Monacelli stated. "We didn't want to fracture the current player pool and community."

However, the game studio will let those who purchase "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" to have an exclusive access to the multiplayer beta of "Uncharted 4" in October.
