"True Detective" just added two new names to its roster of cast members. James Frain and Lolita Davidovich signed up for recurring roles in the hit HBO crime drama's second season, joining Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, and Vince Vaughn.

E! Online reported that Davidovich will play the role of Nancy Simpson, a former showgirl who drowns herself with margaritas and cigarettes after getting lesser sexual attention from men. She is also the mother of Kitsch's character Paul Woodrugh.

On the other hand, former "True Blood" and "Intruders" star Frain will portray the role of the cold-blooded police officer Jeff Hunt.

"True Detective" season 2 reportedly deals with the life of three police detectives and a career criminal who have to interact with each other to find the truth behind a murder case.

Kitsch's Woodrugh is one of the detectives, and he will be joined by Farrell's character Ray Velcoro. Vaughn will portray the role of the career criminal who wants to reform.

Meanwhile, there have been talks saying that the producers are trying to cast Rachel McAdams to play the part of the third lead detective in the series.

Other stars who are confirmed to appear in in the Nic Pizzolatto-created series include: "Almost Human" star Michael Irby, who is cast to portray the role of McAdams's partner named Elvis; "The Tomorrow People" star Leven Rambin who will play the role of Sophia, the pretty girl who is haunted by her history of drug abuse; former "Suits" star Abigail Spencer who is set to play the character of Alicia, a sexual attack survivor; as well as Kelly Reilly from "Black Box" whose character is simply described as the "self-possessed Morgan."

The production for the upcoming season of "True Detective" is scheduled sometime later this fall, and will reportedly shoot in several parts of California.
