As the Tim Tebow Foundation celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, the organisation founded by Christian football star Tim Tebow is reflecting on its blessings and what sets it apart from other non-profit organisations.

In its website, the charitable organisation shared five things that make it stand out from the crowd. The first is its commitment to faith.

"God receives all the glory for the success and growth of TTF. We use the platform that we have been given to share the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. With a broad mission statement and a dedication to prayer, we seek to remain continually obedient to God's call," the group said in its official statement.

The second thing the group is proud of is that it serves "the least," or those who the world deems as "the least of these" impoverished people. But the TTF does not look down on those they serve, since God views every person with equal worth and value, and it is its mission to do the same.

The third aspect of the organisation is that it is a "100 percent model," which means that all of public donations received are allocated directly to its outreach initiatives. "The TTF is committed to being good stewards of the donations we receive," the group statement said. "Overhead and administrative costs are covered through private donations specifically gifted for these purposes."

The TTF is also a business with the heart of a charity, and this is the fourth thing that sets it apart from others. It sees donors as investors and shareholders and as such they are treated as such. TTF promotes transparency and return on investment—not in dollars, but in lives changed.

Lastly, there is growth in the TTF. "The TTF has seen tremendous growth in each of our outreach initiatives in the five years since inception. We anticipate unprecedented expansion in 2016 with the growth of Night to Shine, which has tripled in size from our inaugural event and continues to grow," the group said in its statement.
