Tim Tebow still passionate about football, but there's something more important for him €“ charity work

Christian football player Tim Tebow is not one to complain and always likes to look at the glass half full. Since signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles last month, Tebow has become a back-up quarterback, and he is extremely grateful for the opportunity.

To recall, before Tebow joined the Eagles, he has not been on any National Football League (NFL) roster for two years and has not started as a quarterback since his stint with the Denver Broncos back in 2011.

Tebow considers himself blessed to still be playing the sport he feels so passionate about. "I think sometimes when things are taken away, then you don't realize how much fun it is to come out here and play this game," Tebow told USA Today.

"You can't play it forever, so I'm going to enjoy it," he added.

During his break from the NFL, Tebow said he still played and enjoyed the sport. "I still competed. I trained every single day," he revealed. "You should have seen the Tebow Turkey Bowl. It was the craziest thing ever! I'm serious. We had uniforms."

Despite his deep love for the sport, there is something that Tebow actually considers as more important than his career – his charity work. This is why he founded the Tim Tebow Foundation back in 2010 in hopes of sharing "Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need."

"Everyone needs to do something greater than themselves, to do something for other people," he told PEOPLE. "That's why we're here; that's why we're always looking for more ways that the Foundation can help others. I want to build a legacy that is greater than football."

Tebow added that humanitarian work is already a big part of who he is and he has promised never to stop doing it.
