Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) mysterious death on NBC's "This Is Us" will not be explored anytime soon.

Many fans tuned in to NBC's breakout drama during its freshman run, and more are getting hooked as the series heads to its second season. Season 1 left off with some clues on what is in store for Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack's family life. By the looks of it, things will get ugly between the married couple. The show's finale in March saw the pair's blowout fight lead Jack to walk out of their home and back to the bar. Fans already know that Rebecca and Jack will eventually come to an end, but it seems that Jack's last scene will not be shown anytime soon.

In an interview, series creator Dan Fogelman said viewers will have to wait a while to see how the Pearson patriarch died. "It's going to be our complicated thing to navigate until it actually happens in the show as giving and not frustrating and not showing too much," he explained. "I think there's a reason to be hopeful even as we're sad, which I think is a good mantra for the show: Hopeful, but sad."

Meanwhile, season 1 also saw Kevin (Justin Hartley) meet Hollywood director/producer Ron Howard (as himself) during his play. Ron was visiting New York when he saw Kevin's performance and was impressed by the floundering actor's skills. He enjoyed the play so much that he offered Kevin a role in his new movie, which means the character's blossoming career will be further explored in season 2.

Howard was at the red carpet for National Geographic's "Genius" on Thursday, and he was asked if he will return for another cameo in the drama. Speaking with TV Guide, Howard said his family loves the series and he would like to return in the future even if he has not gotten a call from "This Is Us" producers yet.

The second season of "This Is Us" is expected to premiere this fall on NBC.
