In the upcoming Feb. 22 episode of "The Young and the Restless," Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be devastated after learning that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was attacked and is in grave condition. Moreover, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will discover something shocking.

Sharon has been thinking of telling Nicholas "Nick" Newman (Joshua Morrow) the truth about the paternity of Christian — that he really is the son of Adam. Just as she was going to do so by calling Nick, she will be attacked by a mysterious gloved hand, who will be swinging a heavy metal coffee pot at her head. Celeb Dirty Laundry thinks the attacker is Nick's fiancée and Sharon's rival, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan). However, Soap Hub thinks that the gloved hand eerily resembled the gloved hand that picked up Adam's wedding ring after Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) murdered him. Furthermore, Soap Hub thinks Chloe asked Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) who is in Genoa City to do the dirty work for her.

Mariah will receive the call detailing Sharon's condition. She will rush off to the hospital, only to be devastated after learning that Sharon is in a comatose with a slim chance of ever waking up. She will ask the doctor to do everything he possibly can to wake her up but he will tell her that they will have to wait for Sharon's conditions to improve. The news about Sharon's grave condition will not only affect Sharon, but Nick's and Sharon's loved ones as well.

As for Nikki, she will be discovering something that will shock her to the core. What her discovery will be is still unknown but Celeb Dirty Laundry thinks it may be connected to what happened to Sharon — more specifically, Nikki will be the one to discover Sharon's unconscious body.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays on CBS.
