'The Witcher 3' Blood and Wine DLC: Toussaint's quaint scenery, new enemies and characters introduced in new screenshots

"The Witcher 3" Blood and Wine screenshots CD Projekt Red

CD Projekt Red is showing off the sprawling world of Toussaint in five new scenic screenshots from the highly anticipated Blood and Wine DLC coming soon to "The Witcher 3."

The first screenshot shows a bird's-eye view of the new kingdom – a painting of grass, sunflowers and trees with picturesque mountains serving as backdrop. It is a sight that Geralt of Rivia takes a moment to pander to in "The Witcher 3"screenshot.

"Toussaint is full of places waiting to be discovered," CD Projekt Red teases and "The Witcher 3" developer couldn't be more accurate. Another Blood and Wine DLC screenshot takes gamers deep into Toussaint, which boasts an expanse of overgrown foliage, with a sky-scraping tower far beyond.

Gamers will realize that Toussaint is not only very different Novigrad, which they have been exploring and scouring, but it is a place that is like nothing they have ever seen.

The third "The Witcher 3" DLC screenshot features a vibrant restaurant called Beauclair, adored with red fanciful climbing plants, which is a perfect place for Geralt to take a break. CD Projekt Red boasts that this place "is all kinds of fancy."

The Blood and Wine screenshots also introduced two new characters. The photo features Geralt of Rivia as he runs into Anna Henrietta and her entourage. It is unclear what the queen will be up to in "The Witcher 3" but looks like she isn't very keen on meeting the witcher.

Apart from Anna Henrietta, Geralt also bumps into a new enemy called Scolopendromorphs, which look like large killer centipedes. "It's harder to kill than to pronounce its name," CD Projekt Red teases about the creatures.

More information about "The Witcher 3" DLC Blood and Wine will be revealed next month but Senior Social Media and Community Coordinator Marcin Momot can already assure fans that they are in for an amazing treat.

"I can already tell you Blood and Wine is a fascinating story, with every sort of twist and turn you'd expect from our writers," Momot said on a blog post.

"Toussaint, the new realm we're creating for the expansion, is unlike anything you've seen in Wild Hunt – carefree and colorful, but your gut never stops telling you that there's some real dark stuff happening underneath all that," he continued.
