The popular TV series "The Walking Dead" is getting another video game adaptation in 2018. The game is slated for release sometime in autumn of 2018. It will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC — it will be a four-player cooperative multiplayer game.

Developed by Overkill, "The Walking Dead's" upcoming video game takes a few pointers from "Left 4 Dead." Unlike the previous games of the franchise, the latest "Walking Dead" video game will be a first-person shooter that pits teams of four players against zombie hoards. The game will be set in Washington DC shortly after the start of the zombie outbreak. According to Eurogamer, most of the "Walking Dead" levels will consist of quests and raids for players to complete.

Aside from quests and raids, "The Walking Dead" will also contain base-building elements. Players will have to gather supplies and strengthen their bases to keep their characters alive and secure.

Each of the characters will come with their own specific traits. They will also have different abilities that allow them to play different roles in a team. It is ideal for teamwork and ensures that players do not merely rely on themselves to survive. They need to work together and utilize the different strengths of each character. These playable protagonists will also come with their own personal backstories.

Walkers will not be the only enemy in "The Walking Dead." According to PC Gamer, players will also have to deal with the other survivors. Balancing fending off zombies with protecting one's base from other people in need of supplies and shelter. It is a tightrope act that will require players to tread carefully and avoid biting off more than they can chew.

Overkill uploaded a new trailer to their official YouTube channel on Dec. 10. The trailer was a team introduction that provded some of the names and faces behind the game's development. On the same day, they also released the trailer for the character Aidan – one of the playable protagonists.
