After being in cahoots with their mother for the longest time, it seems like Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will be affected by his mother Lily's (guest star Annie Wersching) death in the 10th episode of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.

According to a spoiler from Entertainment Weekly, Damon will become the center of attention in the episode titled "Hell Is Other People." Damon will find himself in almost all the scenes in the episode leading to the death of his mother.

In a recent interview with Variety, Somerhalder talked about what fans should look forward to in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 10, which he considers a concept episode. According to the actor, the episode will be solely about his character.

"The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was the best at all. The way the story was put together ... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point," Somerhalder shared.

The actor also teased a little description about the episode, saying: "It was a Civil War episode. I was covered in dirt and gunpowder with things blowing up around me. From a Monday to a Friday, I lost six pounds."

In addition, Somerhalder said viewers of the show will see a different side of Damon in the particular episode. However, the actor did not reveal whether the eldest Salvatore sibling will be good or bad in this installment of the supernatural drama series.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 10 will air on Jan. 29.
