"The Twilight Zone" is a Sci-Fi and Fantasy anthology series that aired thrice, in 1958, 1985, and most recently in 2002. It came to end in 2003, more than a decade ago. However, recently, it was revealed that Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) would be rebooting the classic TV show.

According to TV show news website Variety, CBS will be airing the reboot on their "All-access" streaming service. This was confirmed by the CEO of CBS, Leslie Moonves.

Specific details have yet to be given out this early on, but rumors about Jordan Peele directing "The Twilight Zone" have been circulating around the internet. Peele recently directed the hit-horror movie "Get Out," and the movie also came with its fair share of spooky and sci-fi-like elements.

Peele has proved to fans everywhere that aside from writing brilliant and hilarious comedy shorts, he's also a heavyweight in the horror writing division of screenplays. Alongside rumors about Peele directing the reboot of "The Twilight Zone," there have also been rumors about Marco Ramirez (one of "The Walking Dead's" and "Daredevil's" writers) being tapped to be the reboot's showrunner.

According to Variety, CBS has had its eye on the "The Twilight Zone" for some time now. CBS is also aware of the risks that come with reviving long-time TV shows from the past but feel confident they'll be able to deliver and bring the show justice.

"The Twilight Zone" was revived twice in the past. The 1985 version was revived by CBS and ran for three seasons until 1987. The 2002 version was revived by United Paramount Network (UPN), but the second reboot only stayed on the air for a year. The second reboot received mixed reviews from fans of the show and earned a rating of 66 perfect on Movie and TV review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Only time will tell whether the latest reboot by CBS will be something the fans come to cherish.
