"The Sims 4" is still expected to be released to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year despite the silence of collaborators Electronic Arts and Maxis.

Previous iterations of the hit life-simulation video game series were always released to consoles so gamers expected "The Sims 4" won't be any different.

Seeing that EA is hushed about the game, fans started to think that "The Sims 4" might not be coming to the PS4 and the Xbox One at all.

However, rumors have it that EA is actually working on bringing the game to the console, but the porting process is taking a while to complete.

The lack of updates on the purported "The Sims 4" PS4 and Xbox One also fuelled rumors that EA and Maxis have abandoned all their plans for console release for its current title to work on "The Sims 5."

However, despite these reports, the general consensus is that "The Sims 4" PS4 and Xbox One could arrive later this year. The folks behind the game, however, are yet to corroborate this.

During the EA Play event, not even the shadow of "The Sims 4" was spotted there, which implied that EA had no big plans for the game that's in the offing. If it did, it would have been announced there.

At the moment, EA appears to be doing its best to enrich "The Sims 4" experience on PC. The company is releasing its latest game pack called "Kids Room Stuff" today, June 28.

This downloadable content adds all sorts of fun and games for the youngsters. There's a Puppet Theater where the kids can perform plays and a game of Voidcritter Battle Station.

The latter is all about catching, training and collecting and battle Voidcritters. "The Sims 4" players can read all about it here. There's also a Tween Pop radio station, a new BEtween TV channel as well as unique selection of outfits.
