'The Sims 4: Pets' DLC expansion pack's release still a mystery

Rumors about "The Sims 4" having a "Pets" DLC have been around for a year already. Facebook/The Sims

Despite having been rumored for more than a year already, it remains uncertain as to when "Pets," the alleged next downloadable content (DLC) for "The Sims 4," will arrive.

It was at the early part of this year when the gaming community "confirmed" that "Pets" is in the pipeline of EA. This came after the alleged DLC's code was discovered in the game's update, "Toddler." Nonetheless, even prior to the so-called discovery, it had already been rumored that "Pets" is in the works.

Despite the "evidence," though, EA has remained mum on the alleged DLC. Hence, no one can really tell at this point in time as to when "The Sims 4" expansion pack will arrive. Nonetheless, this does not stop rumors and speculations about the alleged DLC from circulating online.

Based on the supposed leaked codes, "Pets" will feature dogs, cats, horses, birds, ferret, guinea pig, and reptiles. The codes are also said to suggest certain actions that these animals can do, such as go-fetch, jump on object, and sit next to. On the other hand, recent unconfirmed reports claim the animals can walk on certain surfaces, such as counters, bars, fridges, tables, and beds.

Earlier code discoveries also suggest that the alleged DLC will enable players customize their pets' ears, tail, and special fur options on the body, tail, and ears. However, some sources claim that, instead of allowing the players (otherwise known as Sims) to create their own pet, they will be required to adopt one instead.

It is also alleged that players can choose a career for their pets. Whether they choose their pets to engage in Security, Service, or Show Biz, the choice is expected to strengthen the bond between them and their pets and develop the animals' characteristics.

While the mentioned rumors on "The Sims 4: Pets" DLC are nothing short of exciting, unfortunately, they are nothing but only speculations for now and can only be confirmed once the suspected DLC is released, who knows when.
