Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) will be freed from the dream-like realm that Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) trapped him in in "The Originals" season 4.

During the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, Morgan teased in an interview with TV Over Mind that his character Klaus will be rescued by his daughter Hope from the clutches Marcel's fury.

A five-year-old Hope will be introduced in the upcoming season, and the character will be portrayed by "Basic Witches" young actress Summer Fontana. According to Morgan, Hope's "unconditional love is something that changed him forever." Since Hope's powers could be one of a kind because of the combination of the vampire, wolf, and witch genes from Klaus and her mother Haylen Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin), she could do everything that could help her father escape Marcel's wrath.

Tonkin also expressed her excitement about what Hope can bring to the show next season. "I'm excited to see what kind of personality this little girl has," the actress said during the cast interview with TVLine during the 2016 SDCC. "Even though she hasn't been around her dad for the last five years, I think there's a lot of Klaus in her — good or bad — and I'm excited to see that in this little powerful witch."

Meanwhile, reports revealed that "Teen Wolf" alum Keahu Kahuanui was tapped to portray the role of Josh Rosza's (Steven Krueger) new boyfriend named Eddie. According to the character description, Eddie is "sweet, funny, sexy and charming, with an encyclopedic knowledge of random facts." He also wants to remain human despite being aware of all the supernatural forces around him in New Orleans.

Aside from Kahuanui, "Containment" alum Christina Moses will also join the cast as the fierce werewolf named Keelin, as well as "Sleepy Hollow" actor Neil Jackson as the mysterious vampire named Alistair.

The CW will include "The Originals" season 4 in its midseason lineup in 2017.
