'The Originals' season 3 finale spoilers: ultimate threat coming but what about Rebekah?

Klaus and Lucien finally meet again in "The Originals" season 3 episode 20 The CW

A boatload of tragedies and problems have been hurled at the Mikaelsons in the recent past but the ultimate crisis won't show itself until "The Originals" season 3 finale, titled "The Bloody Crown."

The synopsis for the highly anticipated season 3 finale hints that "the one person that could lead to their ultimate demise" will soon arrive and that the prophecy will soon be fulfilled.

There's no telling who this new enemy is or what horrors he or she is capable of, but the individual sounds like a big headache for the Mikaelsons.

Before Klaus can even properly grieve the death of the love of his life Cami, who died of Lucien's bite in episode 19, he is already forced to take on new threats.

According to the synopsis for "The Originals" season 3 finale, Klaus won't even get a much-deserved breather as "an army of his oldest sworn enemies" come for him, prepared to make him pay for everything he's done to them.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Mikaelsons will do everything to keep their family out of harm's way. The penultimate episode of "The Originals" season 3 will show Freya become aware of the approaching new threat.

Moving towards the finale, Marcel will be betrayed by someone very dear and he, needless to say, would not take it well. His situation prompts the return of "someone from his past" who is believed to be Rebekah.

In the upcoming episode of "The Originals" season 3 titled "When Nothing Stays Buried," the ultimate confrontation between Klaus and Lucien will finally take place. Davina's true fate, after being bitten by Kol (under the influence of the ancestors) will also be revealed.

"The Originals" season 3 finale "The Bloody Crown" airs May 20 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The show returns this May 6 with episode 20, "When Nothing Stays Buried."
