'The Man in the High Castle' season 2 news: Series hailed Amazon's most streamed original program

"The Man in the High Castle" is slowly becoming Amazon's most valuable program.

After only one season and fresh from a second season renewal, the show has emerged as Amazon Prime Instant Video's most streamed original series in the whole first month of the streaming service.

The series, which is based on a Philip K. Dick's 1963 alternative history novel of the same name, booted out the Emmy Award nominee police procedural drama "Bosch," proving that Frank Spotnitz's series, despite only being a newcomer and the controversies attached to it, can still thrive.

According to Christian Post, the series went through advertising issues after Nazi-centric promos were scattered in New York. Overall, this did not seem to impact the performance of the series taking into account its latest achievement and with "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 already in the offing.

Considering such amazing feat being pulled off for such a short amount of time, the success tastes the sweetest to the cast and crew that went through eight years of challenges and effort in putting the series together. The show premiered in January while the rest of the episodes were released on Amazon Prime Instant Video last Nov. 20.

"The Man in the Castle" imagines an alternate world where the Nazi emerged as the victors of the Second World War. United States was divided into several regions that are ruled by Japan and Germany.

In that alternate "what if" world, three factions were created – the Greater Nazi Reich in the east, the Japanese Pacific States in the west and the Neutral Zone at the center. The story centers on Alexa, a California girl content with a life governed by the Japanese until a mysterious man named Joe Blake enters the picture.

There are no solid details about "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 yet, much less a release date. For now, fans can relish the success of what has become a new storytelling gem and those who haven't seen it yet can catch up before the new season arrives.
