A lot of developments are happening to "The Last of Us," as a reliable source confirmed that the action-adventure survival horror game will be given a new DLC that will be dropped today.

The news about the release of "The Last of Us" DLC was confirmed by YouTube user SanchoWest, who tweeted about the unveiling of the expansion pack during last weekend's PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I can confirm that new The Last of Us DLC is coming. & you can play it the showroom floor in Vegas @ PlayStation Experience in their tourney," SanchoWest tweeted last week.

Fans of the hit horror video game from game developer Naughty Dog were thrilled to hear the news, especially because it means that they can play it again with fresh content and gameplay. Although there are no details yet about what the DLC pack will contain, fans are eager to learn if they will include the highly-anticipated horde mode, or if it will add more multiplayer add-ons and maps.

Meanwhile, a possible sequel for the game is rumored to be in the works. According to earlier reports, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann said that the possibility of coming up with "The Last of Us 2" is 50-50. However, Hypable later reported that the creation of "The Last of Us 2" has already been confirmed, but there are no further details revealed by Naughty Dog.

When asked about it during an interview, Druckmann stated, "We're playing with some ideas, but no direction has been set yet for the next game."

But a recent speculation posted in several forums in VG24/7 mentioned that the plot of "The Last of Us" sequel will concentrate on an older Ellie, and follows her life and struggles without Joel.

If rumors and speculations are correct, then "The Last of Us 2" will have a June 2016 release, and a new voice actress will replace Ashley Johnson in portraying the grown up Ellie.
