'The Good Wife' season 6 spoilers, cast: What will Alicia face this season?

"The Good Wife" will return to the small screen later this month, and there's a lot that fans can look forward to.

Dubbed as "The Line," this season's first episode synopsis states: "Alicia is adamant about her refusal to run for State's Attorney despite Eli's attempts to persuade her to launch a campaign. Meanwhile, as Diane (Christine Baranski) considers joining Florrick/ Agos as partner, an internal crisis threatens to destroy the firm."

The short teaser that CBS recently released shows that Eli is asking Alicia again if she has plans to run for office.  A few clips feature Alicia's answer – that she has "no interest" in any political position whatsoever, and that she is "never saying yes."

But fans of the hit series know better. They believe that something can make her change her mind this season. This could be the "line" that Alicia has to cross for her next political move.

On the other hand, "the line" could also have something to do with Diane's move to join Florrick/Agos after quitting from Lockhart/Gardner. In the teaser, Diane is heard telling Alicia that she can bring $38 million to Florrick/Agos if she will be accepted.

But of course, this is "The Good Wife." The drama will not stop on the season premiere. In the next episode entitled "Trust Issues," Alicia will have to face the challenge of catering to the most prominent clients of Florrick/Agos.  A new equity partner at the Lockhart/Gardner firm named Dean Levine-Wilkins, played by Taye Diggs, will be introduced by this time.

Aside from Diggs, Zap2it announced that former "Frasier" star David Hyde Pierce will also join the cast this season as  a "highly respected cable news legal commentator who is so disgusted with the corruption and murder rate in Chicago that he decides to run for office in order to affect change."

The premiere episode of "The Good Wife" Season 6 will be aired on Sept. 21 on CBS.
