'Good Wife' season 7 spoilers: Can Alicia work with Jason after learning about his past?

The cast of The Good Wife CBS/ The Good Wife

While fans of the "The Good Wife" have already fallen in love with Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character Jason Crouse this season, CBS had to break their hearts after announcing that Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) new law firm investigator will not stay with her for long.

In "The Good Wife" season 7 episode 6, Alicia decided to look into Jason's past after learning that he is actually a disbarred lawyer and a sociopath who will "eat away at your life from the inside." But the result of Alicia's investigation was not revealed during the episode, which means that the vital information about the charming new investigator is still left hanging.

But in a recent report from Vanity Fair pointed out that Jason might not be at Alicia's side for a long time, since Morgan was only hired to portray the role of the extremely charming freelance private investigator for season 7. Just recently, the seasoned actor landed the coveted role of Negan on AMC's "The Walking Dead," where he will be introduced in the latter part of season 6 and most parts of season 7. It means that the actor will only have a little time to spend in the next season of "The Good Wife" if CBS will bring it back for its eighth season.

Meanwhile, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) will find herself in the middle of a personal struggle when she takes on a complicated case involving pro-choice and pro-life advocates to secure an important client represented by Ethan Carver (Peter Gallagher).

The official synopsis for the episode titled "Restraint" reads:

"Diane is personally conflicted when she is forced to argue a heated case between pro-choice and pro-life advocates in order to retain an important client, represented by attorney Ethan Carver. Also, Alicia and Lucca are desperate for new business and attempt to poach clients from Louis Canning (guest star Michael J. Fox)"

"The Good Wife" season 7 episode 8 airs on Sunday, Nov. 22, on CBS.
