There are tons of things to be thrilled about upon the return of "The Good Wife" season 7 and the list just got longer with the revelation that phenomenal actresses Julianna Margulies and Margo Martindale will be sharing a heartfelt scene in the series.

A sneak peek of the midseason premiere titled "Iowa" shows the two talk about life and truth. Alicia opens up to Ruth about how lost she is at this point in her life to think that she knew she had it all figured out. "I used to think I knew what life was about, but I don't have a clue," she said.

"Cherish that moment," Ruth advised. "When you realize that you don't know what life's about, that's truth," she then explained. When "The Good Wife" season 7 returns, Alicia will deal with Eli's confession about the deleted voicemail from Will and Jason moving away.

In the name of Peter's campaign, Eli and even Ruth have done outrageous things. For the second time, Alicia's love life becomes another form of sacrifice just for her estranged husband to look good in front of the people of the United States.

However, despite these life-shattering efforts, it looks like Peter himself will jeopardize his shot to become president. When "The Good Wife" season 7 returns, Peter and the campaign team are headed to Iowa, an area that Peter should win over.

Before they go there, Eli and Ruth try to figure out the best measure to do in making Pete lovable in the said state but the two are at loggerheads as the latter suggests Peter to visit three countries there, an idea the former thinks will make Peter look desperate.

Alicia is all for Ruth's idea, just to get back at him about his voicemail confession. But whatever scheme they will go for, it looks like Peter will be putting himself in a tight spot in "The Good Wife" season 7 midseason premiere. The synopsis teases that he will take "a high-risk political stunt to gain votes for his presidential bid."

Meanwhile, "Glee" alum Matthew Morrison was tapped for a recurring role. The actor will play the role of Connor Fox, an assistant US attorney tasked to have the last four Illinois governors incarcerated. Fox and the Florricks won't be the friendliest towards each other when he arrives.

"The Good Wife" season 7 resumes Jan. 10.
