After portraying the role of a glee club coach in "Glee," actor Matthew Morrison will now venture into the world of courtroom drama in "The Good Wife" season 7.
The actor confirmed the news on his Twitter account after the Entertainment Weekly made the announcement Wednesday, saying that he is very thrilled to be cast in his favorite TV show.
Morrison will reportedly portray the role of Connor Fox, an assistant U.S. attorney who was responsible for the imprisonment of four Illinois governors. Connor is reportedly a smart but tough guy who is not exactly fond of the Florricks.
The 37-year-old actor is currently part of the Broadway adaptation of "Finding Neverland" as J.M. Barrie. The show will run until Jan. 24.
The announcement of Morrison's casting did not reveal when the actor will appear in the seventh season of "The Good Wife."
Meanwhile, the second part of "The Good Wife" season 7 will begin with the episode titled "Iowa."
The synopsis for the episode reads, "Tensions run high as the entire Florrick family is crammed into Peter's (Chris Noth) campaign bus with Eli (Allan Cumming) and Ruth (Margo Martindale) on their way to the Iowa Caucuses. Once there, Peter attempts a high-risk political stunt to gain votes for his presidential bid."
This means that Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Eli will spend more time together after learning that he deleted a message that was sent to her by Will Gardner (Josh Charles) six years ago. Eli decided to prevent the message from reaching Alicia because he wants to protect Peter's political ambition.
Can Alicia stand being close to Eli knowing that he was the reason why she and Will weren't able to pursue a relationship before his untimely death?
"The Good Wife" season 7 returns on Sunday, Jan. 10, on CBS.
