Those rooting for a Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon (David Lambert) romantic reunion in the upcoming season 5 of "The Fosters" may be up for a major disappointment as the former's relationship with Aaron (Elliot Fletcher) will continue when the Freeform drama returns for its next season this July.

The second half of "The Fosters" season 4 had been a tumultuous one for Callie. Apart from her legal battles, the previous season also featured the falling apart of her relationship with AJ (Tom Williamson). Thankfully, before the season came to a close, she and Aaron finally elevated their friendship and officially became a couple.

While many are happy to see Callie have someone help her tone down the blues, there are still those hoping that she and her foster brother Brandon will finally rekindle their romantic past. However, according to reports, it is unlikely as Callie's relationship with Aaron will continue in the upcoming season 5 of "The Fosters."

However, this does not mean Callie and Brandon will have not a screen time together at all. Recognizing that the two characters have an undeniable chemistry and a huge following, "The Fosters" executive producer Peter Paige reveals that fans can expect to see "Brallie" once more, not in the same manner that many of their fans are hoping for, though.

"Yeah. We love their connection and value it very much and wanted to see it again. We had missed it. Their storylines have been so divergent that we felt like it was time to make sure they crossed a little bit more. That's the thing about living in a house with seven people — you can go days and days without seeing someone," Paige shares in an interview with TV Line .

"The Fosters" returns to Freeform for its season 5 on July 11, Tuesday, at 8 p.m. EDT.
