After the first two mind-blowing episodes, the fourth season of "The Foster" will take a short break before the repercussions of the events that haunted the family unfold in the third episode of the season.

In episode 2, Mariana's (Cierra Ramirez) disturbed boyfriend Nick (Louis Hunter) was finally arrested inside the Foster family's home after he went on a rampage with a gun at the Anchor Beach Community Charter School when he found out that she was cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend Mat (Jordan Rodrigues). But it does not mean that Mariana is out of danger just yet.

In an interview with TV Guide, Ramirez revealed that the events that happened in the first two episodes will affect her character for the rest of the season.

"It's going to put her in a very dark place. She's left with this guilt that she thought it was all because of her," the actress said. "It's definitely something she's going to have to live with every day."

It seems like the effects of Nick's actions regarding Mariana's infidelity will be seen immediately in episode 3, titled "Trust." According to the synopsis for the episode, "In the aftermath of the school lockdown, Mariana is called out by other students who blame her for Nick's actions."

But the actress also mentioned that Mariana will also find a new outlet to focus on so she could start pulling her life together after the horrifying gun violence incident that happened to her. According to Ramirez, Mariana will become interested in robotics this season.

"I'm really excited about the robotics that Mariana is getting into...It's important to show girls that it's cool to code -- to be a girl and to code. Hopefully Mariana can inspire girls to get into that field as well," the actress stated.

Meanwhile, Mariana's adoptive sister, Callie (Maia Mitchell), will also face the consequences of her actions with Brandon (David Lambert) when they slept together before the court granted her legal adoption to their mothers Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum).

In the trailer, Callie is seen asking Stef and Lena if they will undo the adoption after they found out about her relationship with her adoptive brother. But aside from her family, Callie will also get mocked in school, and the way that she handles her schoolmates' reactions will get her suspended.

But her punishment will lead her to meet a new guy who has no idea about her past and present problems.

The third episode of "The Fosters" season 4 airs on Monday, July 11, on Freeform.
