'The Flash' season 3 spoilers: returning Jesse expected to be a speedster soon as well

Will Jesse finally have her speed in "The Flash" season 3? The CW/Katie Yu

Fans have yet to see the last of Jesse Quick with her essayer Violett Beane set to join co-star Tom Cavanagh in "The Flash" season 3.

The actress confirmed to TV Line that she will reprise her role as Jesse in "The Flash." There was no more information given.

Fans will remember that Jesse and his father Harry (Cavanagh) returned to Earth-2 with Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp). However, fans imagine they are in a very different situation in "The Flash" season 3.

Since Barry (Grant Gustin) decided to change the past, things won't look the same in "The Flash" season 3. The show is taking the "Flashpoint" route, a story in the comics where Barry saves his mother, loses his powers and has the Justice League at war with each other.

This means that there won't be The Flash in the present that Barry will now be in. This opens the possibility of a new speedster to come along.

Jesse is expected to be a speedster soon as well as Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale). Their speedster future was hinted when they were hit with the dark matter as Barry tried to get his power back through a contained particle accelerator explosion.

Since season 2 did not elaborate on that, it is expected that "The Flash" season 3 will show the effect of that event. Whether or not Jesse will be a speedster soon remains to be seen, but the show is laying the groundwork for it.

The world will be in need of one, since Barry will likely lose his powers. It is possible that the alternate timeline where Barry's mom is alive will see Jesse as the hero and not The Flash.

"The Flash" season 3 premieres Oct. 4 on The CW.
