'The Flash' season 3 release date, spoilers: Jesse returns while Caitlin lies low in the dating game

The CW confirmed the return of Violett Beane in "The Flash" season 3.

But since her character Jesse Chamber Wells and her father Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) already returned to their home on Earth-2 last season, fans are wondering if this means that the Jesse of the second alternate universe will be reunited with Team Flash next season.

Speaking with TVLine during the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles early this month, Beane admitted that she still has no idea how her character will fit in with the story for season 3.

"I know I'll be back," the actress said. "But I don't know if it's with or without powers."

In season 2, Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) attempt to reclaim his special power by redoing the speed force accident that made him a superhero speedster also hit Jesse and Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale). This sparked speculation that both of them could possibly turn into new speedsters Jesse Quick and Kid Flash in the upcoming installment of the series.

"When Jesse got hit, I was like 'It's happening! It's happening!'" Beane said. "There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but... it didn't happen, and I was like, 'No!' I'm very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season."

Meanwhile, actress Danielle Panabaker told Melty during the Monte-Carlo Television Festival that she believes that her character Caitlin Snow must take a break from the dating scene in the upcoming season of "The Flash."

Fans of the series know that the S.T.A.R. Labs' bio-engineer has been unlucky in the dating department. First, her husband Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) had been presumed dead due to an accident in the lab. Then she dated Hunter Zolomon (Teddy Sears), thinking that he is the real Jay Garrick.

"I think Caitlin needs to take a break from the boys for a little bit, she's had some rough luck with it, so, um, I don't know," the actress said. "I mean she says toward the end of the season, she says 'I don't know if I'll ever be able to love again.' So it's a tough place to be. I wish happiness for her whatever that looks like. I don't think that depends on the man."

"The Flash" season 3 is scheduled to return to The CW on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
