'The Flash' Season 2 Episode 20 spoilers: Tensions as Barry tries to get his speed, Cisco encounters brother's Earth-2 Doppelganger in 'Rupture'

Joe and Henry become at odds in "The Flash" season 2 episode 20 The CW

Barry is close to getting his powers back in "The Flash" season 2, episode 20 "Rupture." Of course, that will only happen if Harry's attempt to recreate the particle accelerator explosion is a success and Barry's dad Henry is convinced it won't kill him.

After Barry gave up his powers to Zoom to save Wally, things have been extra difficult for Team Flash, especially with metahumans involved. In fact, another one will show up in this "The Flash" episode, and he hails from Earth 2.

This new evil metahuman is Rupture, who happens to be Reverb's brother from Earth-2. He is basically the doppelganger of Cisco's own brother Dante. Rupture comes to Earth-1 in a bid to avenge his brother's death.

Because of this, the new enemy will likely be a bigger deal to Cisco than he will be to Barry and might even push the former to use and hone his powers as well.

As for Barry's attempt to get his speed back, Harry believes that recreating the accident that gave him his powers in the first place will do the trick. Henry is not very keen on that, knowing that it can endanger his son's life.

While Joe believes that it will work and Barry can handle it, Henry points out in the promo for "The Flash" season 2, episode 20 that when Barry was first hit by lightning, he was in a coma for nine months. Harry, in turn, insists that he knows what he's doing.

The idea of recreating the particle accelerator explosion is deeply reminiscent to the famous "Flashpoint" storyline in the comics, although it is Thomas Wayne who makes the attempt.

Meanwhile, as all this happens, Iris decides to finally open up to Barry about her true feelings for him. Will this change Barry's mind?

"The Flash" season 2, episode 20 "Rupture" airs May 3 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
