In "The Big Bang Theory" season 10, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) may end up becoming stepbrothers, but that won't be the only outcome of the shocking hookup of their parents.
Fans will remember that in the fading moments of the season 9 finale, Sheldon's mom Mary (Laurie Metcalf) and Leonard's father Alfred (Judd Hirsch) were suspected to have spent the night together.
While it was heavily implied (with the two not answering their phones on their way back to the hotel) , this was not shown or confirmed.
Either way, the possibility of it happening might negatively impact the second wedding of Leonard and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.
"We're left with a good amount of tension between all the parents," executive producer Steve Molaro told Entertainment Weekly of the purported hookup.
"There's a lot of fallout the following morning before we even get to the ceremony, if we even do," he went on to say, hinting that the nuptials might not even push through.
Alfred and Mary were brought closer together through their hate towards the former's estranged wife Beverly (Christine Baranski), who was also at the wedding.
It looks like the possible hookup between Sheldon and Leonard's parents will overshadow the celebration itself and might even lead to a fight or two.
Either way, it is looking like Leonard and Sheldon will be stepbrothers come "The Big Bang Theory" season 10. While they are practically already brothers, thanks to their unyielding friendship, this actually makes it official.
Interestingly though, it is also being suggested that Alfred and Mary's romance might tear Sheldon and Leonard's friendship apart. Everything is already hostile among the three parents, but the hookup is expected to make it worse.
This, according to "The Big Bang Theory" season 10 spoilers, might force Sheldon and Leonard as well as the rest of the gang to choose sides.
"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 premieres Monday, Sept. 19 on CBS.
