Fans of "The Big Bang Theory" may have to endure two weeks before the show returns on air, but they will finally meet a cherished but never-before-seen character in the next episode from season 9.

In the episode titled "The Meemaw Materialization," viewers will finally meet Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) beloved grandmother, who he fondly calls Meemaw. But according to spoilers for the episode, not everyone will be glad to meet his favorite relative.

Sheldon's Meemaw will meet Amy (Mayim Bialik), but the two will not hit it off at first.

Meemaw seems to hold a grudge against Amy because she decided to end her and Sheldon's relationship during the season 8 finale, but Sheldon will defend his ex-girlfriend to spare her from his grandmother's ire. Before Sheldon can make his move, however, Meemaw will let Amy know about the ring that he was supposed to give her when he was supposed to ask for her hand in marriage.

Entertainment Weekly previously revealed that "Nebraska" star and Academy Award nominee June Squibb will portray the role of Sheldon's grandmother in the upcoming episode.

Will Meemaw's visit and revelation change the dynamics between Sheldon and Amy?

Meanwhile, the episode will also feature Raj's (Kunal Nayyar) encounter with a woman named Claire. He will reportedly meet the children's sci-fi show writer at the Comic Book store and she will invite him to collaborate on a project. According to the spoilers, Raj will turn down the offer because he and Emily (Laura Spencer) are still together. Claire just wants to work with him but Raj already had a vision that they will get married. Does it mean that the new woman will have a bigger role in Raj's life?

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 returns after its two-week break on Thursday, Feb. 4, on CBS.
