'The Bachelor' 2016: Ben recounts first night, promises more 'twists, turns and surprises'

Ben's journey to find true love in "The Bachelor" season 20 has finally begun. The "perfect 10" bachelor has met the ladies that could potentially be his future wife but during the first night, the software salesman already sent seven of these contestants packing.

The bachelor from Indiana admitted in a blog posted by People that it "terrified" him having to send home ladies already knowing "that I might be making a mistake right then and there and sending home my future wife before I even got a chance to really know her."

But "The Bachelor" season 20 was a long night for Ben and it did not end even after watching seven ladies walk out the door. But before all that, Ben had to meet the ladies one by one but little did she know he was going to kiss someone that time.

Lace Morris made quite the entrance when he kissed Ben on the lips as the bachelor welcomed him to the show. Ben blogged about the moment he did not see coming and revealed that "I was floored, honestly."

However, this is not at all the most outrageous event of the night, at least for Ben. The 26-year-old admitted that "the most shocking part" in "the Bachelor" season 20 premiere was seeing Becca and Amber showing up, adding that he had no clue what they were there for.

Going back to Lace, Ben seemed to have shared another moment with her in the "The Bachelor" season 20 premiere, but this time it was Lace "questioning" his intentions after eliminating seven girls. At this point, Ben only resorted to teasing how crazy things will go from there.

"But I guess you'll have to see next week. Just the first of an immeasurable amount of twists, turns and surprises on what was the most unforgettable journey of my entire life," he ended his blog post.

Meanwhile, ET Online says that based on "The Bachelor" season 20 premiere, the girls to watch for include local news anchor Olivia, Jojo (who wore a unicorn mask), software sales associate Caila and flight attendant Lauren B.

The next episode of the reality series airs Jan. 11.
