Televangelist Benny Hinn talks about heaven €” an 'actual heavenly planet' €” after his mother passed away

Televangelist Benny Hinn, best known for his "Miracle Crusades," couldn't help but talk about the beauty and grandeur of heaven after his mother Clemence passed away a day before Mother's Day last Sunday.

"By now, you have undoubtedly heard the news of my mom's home-going. What a blessing it has been to receive so many wonderful messages of encouragement and comfort, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart, on behalf of the entire Hinn family, for all that you have meant to us," he wrote on his website.

Some people may doubt the existence of heaven, but Hinn strongly believes the place exists because it is fashioned by God Himself.

Hinn also assured Christians that God has wonderful things in store for them in heaven, adding that the Bible could help them get a glimpse of heaven.

"The Word of God tells us clearly that heaven is a spectacular place He has created for believers — a city, a country, a heavenly planet," he said. "It is an actual planet, a real place. It isn't a cloud where people merely sit around playing harps. There is much given to us in the Bible that tells us about the heavenly home awaiting us."

And while human words fall short on heaven's description, the Bible is able to convey that heaven's inhabitants include seraphim, cherubim, living creatures, archangels, angels, and saints, Hinn said.

There will be horses of fire and chariots of fire, not to mention vast herds of white horses ridden by those belonging to the Lord's army. There will also be temples, mansions, rivers, mountains, and lots of trees. The tree of life will be there as well, including a sea of glass and 12 gates of pearl, the televangelist said.

There will be food, clothes, and musical instruments, too, he said.

The wonders of heaven are truly magnificent, he added.

But he said people must do their part here on Earth to prepare themselves for heaven.

"As we look forward to all the sights and sounds in heaven, we cannot neglect the calling we have to share the Good News of salvation with literally billions around the world who have never received Jesus Christ as Saviour," Hinn said.

"That's why I ask you, from the depths of my soul, to make the Gospel your highest priority as, together, we seek to keep our commitments to all that the Lord has called us to do," he said.
