Bandai Namco may be tight-lipped about the PS4 and Xbox One release of "Tekken 7" but rumor mills have been churning details about the versions' possible outing later this year.

Months after the fighting game's arcade version made its way to Japan (December 2015 to be specific), series producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed the release o of "Tekken 7" to home systems and promised a "complete and enhanced" edition.

He also sparked rumors about PlayStation Virtual Reality support for "Tekken 7" after teasing that there's "special content in the works that's sure to please PlayStation fans."

Two months after this announcement, Bandai Namco still had no updates to offer about the "Tekken 7" for PS4 and Xbox One. Updates have been scarce ever since, which led to speculations that "Tekken 7" for consoles is on hold.

However, it looks like Bandai Namco is determined to release the game soon. Just recently, it was revealed by Harada to Gamespot that "Tekken X Street Fighter," the long-awaited fighting crossover to follow up Capcom's "Street Fighter X Tekken," is on ice to give way to "Tekken 7."

The game producer explained that they wouldn't want the crossover to "split" the respective communities of the franchises, ultimately forcing them to suspend development on the title.

This decision was fuelled by the fact that Bandai Namco is busy with "Tekken 7," which Harada knows is being looked forward to by a "large crowd."

Right now, details about "Tekken 7" PS4 and Xbox One are still hard to come by. Arcade updates and events have been consistent though.

The console versions are expected to be based on "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," the first update to the arcade version that brought "Street Fighter" character Akuma to the world of "Tekken."

Speaking of the update, fans can try it out in the upcoming Evolution Championship Series or EVO to be held from July 15 to17, 2016 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and Las Vegas Convention Center.
