'Teen Wolf' season 5 spoilers: Stiles and Scott revive friendship in episode 13 'Codominance'

Kira officially returned in the previous episode of "Teen Wolf" season 5. Apart from the fact that she and Stiles are still a couple while most relationships around them have collapsed, there are more exciting things coming for the resident kitsune.

Sadly, Kira still has that fox spirit dilemma on her hands but this crisis will apparently help in the restoration of a certain shattered friendship. In the next episode of "Teen Wolf" season 5, Kira, together with her mother, embark on a journey believed to help her "deal with her dark side."

As part of her test, Kira will have to take on a nightmarish Oni demon out on the desert. As "Teen Wolf" fans know very well, demons are notoriously petrifying especially when it comes to Beacon Hills. Stiles is definitely familiar with such horrors as well.

Taking that into consideration, Stiles, with the help of an unlikely ally in the person of Scott, will attempt to get Kira to safety in this "Teen Wolf" season 5 installment.

Scott and Stiles have gone from best buds to alienated strangers in the past episodes. But in this installment titled "Codominance," the two will find themselves "reaffirming and strengthening their friendship," as executive producer Jeff Davis teased to TV Line.

But this does not mean the duo will be the best of friends once again in the next "Teen Wolf" episode. "That's a little bit longer of a reconciliation. We didn't want to just patch things up in one episode," Davis said.

At the very least, the next "Teen Wolf" season 5 episode will be a monumental step toward Stiles and Scott saving their friendship.

Apart from Kira's Oni Demon dilemma, next week's episode of "Teen Wolf" season 5 will also see Lydia "surprised at the Eichen House." It does not look like she will be getting the good kind of surprise though.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 episode 13 "Codominance" airs Jan. 19 on MTV.
