'Teen Wolf' season 5 spoilers: Someone familiar returns to Beacon Hills in premiere episode

An old, familiar face seems to be returning to Beacon Hills when MTV's "Teen Wolf" returns for season 5.

Executive producer Russell Mulcahy and the cast recently had a sit-down interview with PEOPLE during Sunday's ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, where the subject about the alleged return of a former character in the show was discussed.

"As far as actors coming back, there's always so many different forms in which they can come back, but that's all I'll say," shared Holland Roden, the actress who portrays the role of Beacon Hills High's most popular student Lydia Martin.

Mulcahy also said that as long as the character did not die in the past seasons, there will always be a chance of them coming back in the series. But when he said that they never bring back characters from the dead, the cast corrected him by enumerating the names of Peter (Ian Bohen) and Kate (Jill Wagner), so he just corrected himself by saying that as long as the character's head is still attached to its body, then they could return.

The familiar face is said to appear in the first few minutes of the season 5 premiere of "Teen Wolf."

The cast also discussed about the implications of being a senior student in the show. It means that the upcoming school year for the seniors of Beacon Hills High will be more challenging. They will also have to deal with the fact that they will have to face the unknown after graduation.

"It's such its own character in the show, the high school. It's been there since the beginning, and most of our scenes are in the high school," Tyler Posey, the actor who portrays the lead role Scott McCall, shared.

He added, "It's definitely their home. But I think it's going to be cool. I don't think it will hurt the quality of the show at all. I think it opens doors. We can do different things. Maybe we can go to college. We'll just transfer high school to college. We're not going anywhere."

Scott will reportedly embrace his role as the True Alpha and act as Liam's (Dylan Sprayberry) mentor.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 is scheduled to air its first episode on Monday, June 29, on MTV.
