"Switched at Birth" creator Lizzy Weiss recently shared tiny bit of details about the upcoming "Switched at Birth" season 5 that deals with racism on the school campus and how the season's delay might affect it.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 was pushed back to January 2017. Regardless of this, Weiss believes that this will not affect the relevance of the issue that will be spotlighted in the episode.

In a Twitter exchange with a fan, Weiss said she that "The only depressing upside [about the delay] is that I am quite sure it will still be relevant.

She added that she "[expects] controversy" in this particular "Switched at Birth" season 5 installment, which follows a white student dressing up as rapper Lil Wayne in a costume party that offended the African-American students present.

The title of this special episode is "Occupy Truth." Back in March, Weiss teased that the final three minutes of the installment will be "pretty awesome. And will still be awesome in 2017. (And you will cry)."

Meanwhile, Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne's (Katie Leclerc) simple life in China will be interrupted in "Switched at Birth" season 5 as they will be compelled to go home to attend to an urgent matter.

In the waning moments of the previous season, the pair got a call from an unrevealed individual. From the look on their faces, it seems that their life far from home will be cut short.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 spoilers indicate that the Kennish household has been shaken by a huge problem involving Bay and Daphne.

As per reports, John (D.W. Moffett) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson) might be getting a divorce. It is also speculated that the call has something to do with Toby (Lucas Grabeel) and Lily's (Rachel Shenton) baby.

Whatever it will be, it is believed that Bay and Daphne is no way received good news there. The "Switched at Birth" season 5 premiere very aptly titled "The Call" will delve into what it is all about.

"Switched at Birth" season 5 premieres January 2017.
