'Switched at Birth' season 4 premiere: Emmett to let Bay confess to Daphne's crime?

The premiere episode of "Switched at Birth" season 4 will be aired early next year, and it promises to answer all the questions left during last season's final episode.

After Angelo Sorrento (Gilles Marini) died last season, both Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) and Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano) were having difficulties coping with their father's death. But Daphne seemed to be more affected, hitting rock bottom. She kept on committing huge mistakes, one after the other, but her vandalism stint was the final blow, leaving Bay cleaning up after her mess.

In the coming season premiere, Bay will take the fall for Daphne's crime, which could compromise her future.

The promo teaser for the episode titled "And It Cannot Be Changed" shows Bay telling Emmett Bledsoe (Sean Berdy) that she told the authorities that she was the one responsible for the vandalism instead of Daphne. Emmett is not happy about this, but she explains that since this will technically be her first crime, she will not get into too much trouble compared to Daphne, who had experienced troubles with the law in the past.

But Emmett is still mad because of Bay's decision, especially since they both plan to move away to Los Angeles after high school so Bay can enroll in a medical school. This will definitely give her a criminal record, and Emmett is worried that her dreams of becoming a doctor will not push through anymore. Worse, it could even limit her chances of getting into a good university despite the fact that she did not really commit the crime.

Still, Bay is persistent in believing that she did the right thing. She even tells Emmett that their plans can still go on when everything is clear, and that she will meet him in LA later on. However, Emmett is still unconvinced about Bay's plans, and is very disappointed with Daphne for letting her "switchster" to suffer while she gets off the hook.

The new question is, would Daphne allow Bay to compromise her future for her own sake? Fans have to wait for the answer when season 4 of "Switched at Birth" premieres on Jan. 6 on ABC Family.
