'Switched at Birth' season 4 spoilers: Angelo's birthday causes tension in the family in episode 14

The heartbreaking episode where Bay, Daphne and their mother Regina dealt with the death of Angelo in the previous season of "Switched at Birth." ABC

After helping to sort out Toby (Lucas Gabreel) and Lily's (Rachel Shenton) problems in the previous episode of "Switched at Birth" season 4, Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) will face yet another difficult situation.

In the 14th episode titled "We Mourn, We Weep, We Love Again," the upcoming birthday of Bay's biological and Daphne's legal father Angelo will cause tension to the girls as well as the other characters in the series.

Angelo died in season 3 after suffering from brain aneurysm that caused him to have a car accident. Both the Kennish and Vasquez families had to deal with a very difficult decision whether he should remain in life support or not after being declared brain dead. However, it was Angelo's wish as stipulated in his Last Will and Testament that he should be unplugged when the need arises, and he eventually passed away.

His death deeply affected Daphne in season 3, and it almost caused her to lose her chance to study at a medical school if Bay did not step up to help her.

Now that Angelo's birthday is fast approaching, his memory will put a strain in the girls' relationship with each other as well as the rest of their families.

The official synopsis for the episode reads:

The news about Regina moving out from the guest house is a big discovery on its own, but it's definitely not the only one. As Kathryn and John discuss the future of their finances, they stumble upon the idea of endorsing products. Daphne joins an ambulance ride-along so that she can become her dorm's safety captain. Meanwhile, the reminder of Angelo's upcoming birthday only creates more tension."

Will Angelo's memories have an effect on Regina's (Constance Marie) decision to move out of the guest house? Or does it mean that she has already decided to accept Eric's (Terrell Tilford) proposal to move in together after she got the answers that she wanted when she and Daphne travelled all the way to Atlanta to meet his ex-wife?

The episode will also show how John (D.W. Moffett) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson) deal with their financial troubles.

"Switched at Birth" season 4 episode 14 is slated to air on Monday, Sept. 14, on ABC.
