After being away for several weeks, The CW's popular superhero series "Supergirl" will return next week with a new threat in National City. The latest promo for the upcoming fourteenth episode of season 3, titled "Schott Through the Heart," will be centered on Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan), following the death of his father. Little does he know that his father's passing will be the way for him to meet his mother after so many years. Unfortunately, his mother also brings some bad news with her regarding the wretched legacy of Winn's father, more popularly known as the Toyman (Henry Czerny).
The official synopsis for "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 reveals that Winn's mother will pay a visit to the Toyman's funeral. The character, to be portrayed by "Roseanne" actress Laurie Metcalf, is not interested in reminiscing her days together with Winn's father.
Instead, she will reveal the real reason why she has not been able to show up to her own son after all these years. Apparently, the Toyman threatened to kill his own son if ever Winn's mother tried to connect to their family. Now that the Toyman is gone, she can finally tell more about his evil business in the city.
Aside from Winn's mother, a new character is set to appear in "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14, who appears to be the apprentice of the Toyman. The mysterious new villain in town, to be played by "Grey Anatomy" star Brooke Smith, aims to continue the legacy of the Toyman. The trailer shows that Winn will encounter the Toyman's supposed succesor in the upcoming episode.
On the other hand, "Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 will also see Kara's (Melissa Benoist) efforts in searching for the Worldkillers on the loose, Reign (Odette Anable) and Purity (Krys Marshall). The two sisters have joined forces in the previous episode, as Purity felt that Supergirl and the authorities are trying to subdue her. With this, Kara will have to deal with two powerful individuals that are capable of beating her.
"Supergirl" season 3 episode 14 will be aired next Monday, April 16 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
