There are a lot of interesting characters included in the roster of the "Super Smash Bros." video game, yet it is always puzzling why the game developers chose them over the other characters in the Nintendo universe. Good thing "Super Smash Bros." creator Masahiro Sakurai was kind enough to discuss how they came up with the decision when they finalized the roster of characters featured in the game.

Sakurai said that he makes sure that each game under his belt is his best product, and he does this by thinking that it will be the last game that he will ever do.

"I'm always thinking that doing Smash Bros. again will be impossible. Impossible, impossible ... is what I always think, but I ended up making it again (laughs). But once I decide to do it, I'm very fast about creating moves and such. For example Greninja, even before his name was decided I received several illustrations. I took them home in the evening and around midnight I had already done all his actions, normal moves, special moves and pose-pictures and sent them around asking 'What do you think?'" he said.

He also encountered several adjustments in the roster, especially during the event when the game development was nearing its deadline. This resulted to several exclusions of some of the old characters as well as newer ones.

"Each and every character has fans, we wanted to drop as few as possible. About the order of which character has priority, the characters that don't have a new title coming up have an overwhelming disadvantage ... even characters that we ended up including could have been left out if development had progressed differently," the game developer said.

Meanwhile, several players believe that one character is too powerful compared to the rest of the roster. According to reports, there are "Super Smash Bros." players who think that Diddy Kong is overpowering, and it can beat all the other characters in an instant. This poses a problem since it 's unfair for other players who do not want to use him in their matches.
