Concerned Ape (Stardew Valley's Developer) gave fans a much-awaited update on "Stardew Valley's" upcoming multiplayer mode.

The tweet featured a screenshot of two cabins side by side. No specific release dates were given, but Concerned Ape mentioned that they were testing multiplayer and it was going along great. "I'm really excited, this is already really fun and it's only going to get better before release. Check out my log cabin."

The announcement that "Stardew Valley" would one day be getting multiplayer was made earlier this year. Before then modders already found a way to mod the game so friends could play together, however, it suffered from some glitches and the fact that "Stardew Valley" was made to be a single player game.

Concerned Ape remedied this with their own vision of what a multiplayer version of the hit farming and life simulator could be like. Polygon reported earlier in August about the features that would be added to multiplayer.

One of the biggest changes would be the farmhand system. Instead of going through the game alone, players would be able to invite some of their friends into their own game. The friends will be able to build cabins on the host's farm, and aside from that, they will also be able to help with the farm work and the animals.

One of the things fans were most excited about was the changes that were going to be made to the marriage system. Reportedly, multiplayer would have it so friends could marry each other if they wanted to, though it's still possible for the players to pair their characters with one of the villagers instead.

Not much else has been said about the upcoming multiplayer mode, so fans of "Stardew Valley" will just have to wait for more updates.

"Stardew Valley" was first released on Feb. 27, 2016.
