The truth about Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parentage will be exposed when "Star Wars: Episode 8" comes out in theaters in 2017.

In an interview with Vulture, Ridley revealed that fans of the long-running epic sci-fi movie franchise will finally learn the truth about her character's parents.

When asked if there is a possibility that Jyn Erso could be Rey's mother, the actress tried to analyze it on the spot. According to Ridley, there might be historically impossible to say that Jyn is Rey's biological mom since the character was alive during the time of Darth Vader. This means that it would be more logical to say that Jyn could be Rey's great-grandmother.

"I am just excited to see how it is, because I have heard it is so so different, and its own thing," Ridley said during the interview. "I have no idea what happens – I know the ending, but I have no idea really what happens in it."

But when the subject of having Obi-Wan Kenobi as Rey's father, the actress gave a vague answer. "We will see in a year," Ridley stated in the interview. "Just sit tight on that question."

This could mean that even the actress is considering the fact that Rey's Kenobi-inspired wardrobe and her skills in playing Jedi mind tricks could be the subtle hints that the tough Jakku scavenger is actually the daughter of the legendary Jedi master.

Meanwhile, fan-operated blogsite Making Star Wars speculated that Finn (John Boyega) could be facing a new menacing kind of Stormtrooper in "Star Wars: Episode 8." Based on the blog, the new Stormtrooper called The Executioner will be more challenging compared to the group of Stormtrooper that he faced outside Maz Kanata's (Lupita Nyong'o) place.

However, Finn might have a harder time defeating the new enemy this time. In "Episode 7," Finn survived the battle with the help of Han Solo (Harrison Ford). But now that Han Solo is dead, Finn might have to face The Executioner alone.

"Star Wars: Episode 8" is slated to be released in cinemas on Dec. 15, 2017.
