'Star Wars: Battlefront' updates: EA DICE to release new spectator mode along with 'Outer Rim' DLC

The "Outer Rim" DLC won't be the only thing "Star Wars Battlefront" players should look forward to tomorrow. EA/Star Wars

"Star Wars: Battlefront" is officially getting a spectator mode, courtesy of the next big update for the game landing tomorrow, March 22.

While EA DICE did not make a big deal out of it in its announcement video for the upcoming "Outer Rim" DLC, it appears that "Star Wars: Battlefront" gamers have so much to look forward to in this new mode.

The spectator mode will be released with the said "Star Wars: Battlefront" expansion pack tomorrow and will be accessed by gamers for free.

EA DICE has yet to provide official details about the mode, although there are morsels of details and sneak peeks of it peppered in the most recent clips released by the developer.

Polygon believes that the new spectator mode might have something to do with Jabba the Hutt or at least his palace, which can easily be a setting for some action-packed wrangles.

Fans have been hearing about the so-called Hutt Contracts, which is believed to be the name of this new spectator mode for "Star Wars: Battlefront.

It is said to introduce a new set of missions, a shiny array of weapons and an increased level cap. In short, it is an effective way for gamers to obtain some goodies.

For now, EA DICE wants the spotlight all to the "Star Wars: Battlefront" "Outer Rim" DLC, which introduces two new playable heroes – Sullust rebel Nien Nunb and bounty hunter Greedo.

The action takes in place in both Sullust and Tatooine, where the four brand new maps featured in the highly anticipated DLC will be extracted from.

A new mode called Extraction will also be added, where the Rebels will have to retrieve a valuable shipment of resources before the Empire gets to it first.

To aid "Star Wars: Battlefront" in this mode, the DLC brings in two new weapons – the Scatter Gun and the Dioxis Grenade.

The "Outer Rim" DLC is priced at $14.99 and is included in the game's $50 season pass. It officially drops tomorrow, along with the new spectator mode.
