Rumors have been going around in Hollywood about the possible stars who will appear in the new installment of the "Star Wars" series, and the star of another blockbuster franchise is one of them.

According to speculations, "Iron Man's" Robert Downey Jr. will have a cameo role in the upcoming "Star Wars 7." However, these rumors were quickly addressed by RDJ himself.

In an interview with Mario Lopez for Entertainment Tonight, the award-winning actor was asked if there is truth to the viral rumors about his "Star Wars" participation. The actor noticeably took his time before answering.

"Wow...I don't," the actor said.

When he was asked clarify if the rumors are correct, he simply shrugged, "No- bummed out."

However, it seems as though RDJ would agree to appear in the epic movie franchise if it will be offered to him.

Other rumored A-list stars who are said to appear in the J.J. Abrams film include "James Bond" actor Daniel Craig, "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman, as well as Samuel L. Jackson who earlier portrayed the role of Jedi Master Mace Windu.

"Star Wars 7" is the first film that is produced by Walt Disney Pictures after they acquired Lucasfilm back in 2012. Original series creator George Lucas will take on the role of creative consultant for this installment. There are reports about the possible sequel for this film, leading to speculations that "Episode 7" will be the first film in the third trilogy for the epic space opera saga.

Leading the cast to reprise their roles from the previous "Star Wars" films is Harrison Ford. He will be joined by Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew. New cast members include Oscar's Best Supporting Actress Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Max von Sydow, Domhnall Gleeson, as well as Gwendoline Christie.

"Star Wars Episode 7" is expected to be released on Dec. 18, 2015.
