Nintendo is not done with "Splatoon" yet. In celebration of the hit third-person shooter's first launch anniversary, the company announced the addition of eight new ink-tastic weapons to the game.

"The long-awaited release of Sheldon's Picks Vol. 2 is finally confirmed... We heard that the new weapon combinations may allow you to discover even more new battle strategies" a post on the official Tumblr account of "Splatoon" reads.

The batch of new "Splatoon" weapons is coming this June 7. Nintendo urged fans to stay tune for more information regarding the goodies.

Sheldon's Picks Vol. 2 is the follow-up to the first collection of weapons that were released to "Splatoon" back in April. There were also eight weapons included in the pack—majority of which are fusions of existing weapons and subweapons.

"Splatoon" gamers can expect that the next set of weapons coming this June via Sheldon's Picks Vol. 2 will be something hybrids of armaments like the first batch.

"Splatoon" recently celebrated its first birthday. Ever since, the game has grown to be Nintendo's unexpected gem of a game that enjoyed praises and towering sales performance and earned a loyal fanbase.

"So many great things happened within a year, thanks to all of you! We sincerely appreciate your support, and we hope you continue to enjoy Splatoon," Nintendo wrote on Tumblr.

Apart from the game's colorful nature, "Splatoon" is well-known for its key characters Callie and Marie, better known as the Squid Sisters, an idol group in the game's location known as Inkopolis.

The two have been a really big hit to fans, as they have done real-world concerts and inspired amiibo. The "Splatoon" game itself spawned a clothing line among other fun merchandise.

Apart from the new selection of weapons, "Splatoon" fans will also get another treat in July in the form of a bundle, which includes a 32GB console pre-installed with "Splatoon" and the Marie and Callie amiibos.
